Just in case you hadn’t noticed that note over there (in the sidebar) —->>

This year, we will be honoring C. Peter Cordes as our Democrat of the Year. Pete hails from Sidney, where he has served on the Town Board for three full terms and was elected to his fourth term last year, making him one of the county’s longest-serving Democrats currently in public office.

As for our dinner speakers, we are expecting both our House Representatives — Scott Murphy (confirmed) and Maurice Hinchey — as well as Max Finberg, a local lad who wound up serving in the Obama Administration for the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Max’s dad is Mike Finberg, a member of the DCDC from the town of Middletown.

Tickets for this year’s dinner are $45; you can purchase tickets from your local Town Chair or you can click here to buy them online right now.

This year’s celebration looks like it’ll be a great one, so be sure to get your tickets and come join us!

We’re not supposed to be taking sides yet and so we’re not. But, I’ll admit, sometimes it gets kind of fun when other people do.

The DCDC gathering was a packed house, with over 75 attendees. Music by Jesse and the Compensators and a rousing speech by Gary the Plumber rounded out the evening with MC Cynthia Lockrow, Chair. A wonderful time was had by all!

Rally for Obama in Delhi!

Events Comments Off

New York might be considered a “safe” state for Democrats but that doesn’t mean we can’t show our support for and excitement about Barack Obama.

And, to tell the truth, it’s a lot more fun to attend a rally in our own back yard than it is to make phone calls to Pennsylvania — although the calls are also really, really important.

But never mind that …

Hear ye, hear ye!

Come and join the Delaware County Democratic Committee for a rally in support of Barack Obama and Joe Biden!

WHEN: Saturday, November 1, 2008, noon to 2 pm
WHERE: Delhi Town Square, Delhi, NY

We’ll have speakers and live entertainment and lawn signs and window signs … and cookies!

Come and show your support … and let’s let the world know that there really are Democrats in Delaware County, New York!
