Candidate to visit region

Democrat Scott Murphy, who is seeking the 20th District congressional seat vacated by Kirsten Gillibrand, will be Delaware County on Wednesday.

Murphy, who is running against Republican James Tedisco in the March 31 special election, will be at the Track Side Diner at 1 p.m. to discuss the economy and jobs. The diner is at 88 East Main St.

At 5:30 p.m., Murphy will be in Delhi to open his county headquarters for a “meet and greet” at 98 Main St., the Schimmerling law offices. At 7 p.m., he will speak to a meeting of the Delaware County Democratic Committee in SUNY Delhi’s Sanford Hall, Room 22.

Murphy is a Glen Falls businessman who is a managing director of venture firm Advantage Capital.
