SDC endorses local candidates
Stamford October 10th. 2007, 10:46amOctober 10, 2007
Dear Stamford Democrat!
We take great pleasure and excitement in announcing that we have endorsed a highly qualified slate of candidates to represent your interests in our town. As our committee has grown, we have found that the issues and priorities of voters have not been consistently represented in town government, and we are eager for a change. To that end, the Stamford Democratic Committee (SDC) has endorsed the candidacy of Kelly Keck for Stamford Town Supervisor and Barbara Doyle and Donna Houghton for Stamford Town Board. These three candidates will strive for a more responsive and open town government for the betterment of all town tax-payers.
Kelly Keck is currently the President of the Stamford Village Library Board. As such, he has worked to stream-line the board’s decision-making process by reducing the number of standing active committees. He has been working with all committees on issues ranging from library programming to budget oversight. As supervisor, he would listen and respond to the concerns of all Stamford residents. Barbara Doyle currently serves on the Stamford Town Board and has been willing to stand up for her beliefs. She has added a voice of change to the town board and is looking forward to serving the residents of Stamford for another four years. Barbara works at the Phoenix House in South Kortright. Donna Houghton is running as an unaffiliated candidate endorsed by the SDC. She promises to bring an additional voice of change to the town board and to listen the needs and concerns of the people of Stamford.
In addition to our qualified local candidates, the SDC is pleased to announce its support of our three Democratic candidates for the New York State Sixth Judicial District: Molly Fitzgerald of Broome County, Donald Cerio of Madison County and Richard Rich of Chemung County. Molly Fitzgerald has practiced law within the Sixth Judicial District for 20 years. Her extensive legal experience gives her the background and skills needed to be an effective justice. Donald Cerio has served as the Madison County District Attorney for the last 17 years. He has also the experience, intellect and judicial temperament necessary to carry out the duties and responsibilities of Supreme Court. Richard Rich is an attorney from Elmira and currently serves as Chemung County Public Advocate. He has served in this capacity since the late 1990s.
Please join us in support the following candidates:
• Molly Fitzgerald: NYS Supreme Court, 6th District
• Donald Cerio: NYS Supreme Court, 6th District
• Richard Rich: NYS Supreme Court, 6th District
• Kelly Keck: Stamford Town Supervisor
• Barbara Doyle: Stamford Town Councilwoman
• Donna Houghton: Stamford Town Councilwoman
Election Day is Tuesday, November 6, 2007.
We look forward to seeing you at the polls.
Sincerely,
Cynthia Lockrow
